I finally decided to try zippers mainly because I signed up with my local quilt store to make samples for her store. The first project she wants me to make is a little coin purse, of course with a zipper. I didn't want that project to be my first zipper project, so I decided to try Erin Erickson's Circle Earbud Pouch. I gathered up the supplies once the kids were asleep last night and went to town.
And a little over an hour later I had this:
My very first pouch! I had a few times where my machine hit the zipper just right and it jammed on me, does this happen to anyone else? Maybe I should have changed my needle first - to be honest it was overdue to be changed. But in the end I did it and am completely happy I finally got over my fear. Now I am off to ZipIt to stock up on some zippers since I have Sew Delicious's Sweet Pouch swap to create for too! PS if you are interested in pouches and chocolate, the Sweet Pouch swap is still open!
