Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day ~CLOSED~ and a HUGE Thank You!

UPDATING to add: Make sure you have an email linked to your comment. I have already received a few comments without any way for me to email them. If your name is picked without an email address, I may have to pick another name.

I recently hit a huge mark for my little blog, 200 followers on Google Friend Connect. First of all, I want to thank all my current followers. Your support means so much to me! My little blog has definitely kept me inspired to keep creating and I really appreciate all of your encouragement and support.

I also am linking this up to Sew Mama Sew's Giveaway Day. If you have not heard of SMS Giveaway day, it is a huge event twice a year where you have a chance to win a TON of handmade/sewing/crafting supplies. Check out the SMS blog for all the giveaways!

For those of you who are new to my blog, hi! I am Kelly! I am a stay-at-home mom to my three kiddos. I have twin boys, age 3.5 years and a baby girl who turned one in September. Yes, I get a lot of "you have your hands full" comments, but I am truly blessed to have such a beautiful family.

I am mainly a quilter, but I also like to sew clothes for my kids, and I scrapbook and dabble in photography. Here are a few of my recent and ongoing projects.

I also host a biweekly tool post called "Terrific Tool Tuesday" where I showcase fun sewing and quilting tools, although I am taking a break for the holidays right now. :)

So for a "thank you" to all of you, I have ONE fat quarter bundle of Riley Blake Promenade to giveaway!

This bundle contains 24 fat quarters (18x22 inch pieces of fabric) from the Riley Blake Promenade line. It would be adorable for a little girl quilt.

This giveaway is CLOSED. Winner will be posted Saturday December 8th.

To enter, you MUST leave a comment on this post answering this question: What is your favorite holiday tradition or memory? Please make sure to leave a way to contact you through email! If it is not connected to your account, or if you are not sure, leave it in the comment too!

Bonus entry: Followers, old and new can add an additional comment for one bonus entry, please specify how you follow me!

Thank you so much for stopping by and enjoy Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day!

I love carolling, and I love the Snow candles they make in Sweden, not to mention Lucia, in my home away from home!

December 3, 2012 at 9:28 AM

i'm not much of a holidays person, but i have a secret weakness for xmas music.

December 3, 2012 at 9:38 AM

Thank you for the giveaway! My favorite tradition is probably Christmas morning. Waking up early for presents and trying to convince my parents out of bed. Then having to wait for my brother who hasn't even wrapped his presents yet! It's torturous, but makes the happy memories and anticipation each year last longer while we prepare breakfast and eat Christmas cookies in front of the tree.

December 3, 2012 at 9:40 AM

My favorite holiday tradition is making lefse with my mom- Scandinavian potato crepes you fill with butter and sugar or cinnamon sugar. Can't wait to get my little girl involved! Thanks for such an awesome giveaway! (Gmail is Neliamne)

December 3, 2012 at 9:43 AM

We're just making our own traditions, but my favorite so far is our holiday "tushie rolls" (2 frozen rhodes dough balls in one muffin slot, they thaw and rise and look like a big ol' butt! My then 3 year old declared they were tushie rolls and it's stuck. Can't have a holiday dinner without them!

December 3, 2012 at 9:46 AM

My favorite memory is driving from North Carolina to Knasas every year to see my grandparents. It wasn't all interstate yet, so we would drive through some smaller towns and see all the Christmas lights and decorations. It was amazing to see the Gateway Arch (always a contest to see who spotted it first) and the Mighty Mississippi. Fights and fun with my siblings all the way, too. And not a Nintendo device or DVD player in sight - ha ha!!

December 3, 2012 at 10:02 AM

I am a GFC follower - thanks for the amazing giveaway chance!

My favorite tradition is watching Christmas Vacation with my husband when we put our tree up and when we open presents. :)

December 3, 2012 at 10:05 AM

I love baking with my family while there is Christmas music playing in the background that we can sing along with even if we aren't the best singers.

December 3, 2012 at 10:10 AM

Beautiful fabric! One of my favourite memories is family gathering around the piano to sing Christmas carols - great times!

December 3, 2012 at 10:11 AM

My favorite tradition still goes on today- we spend Christmas eve with my mom's whole family and we spend Christmas day with my dad's whole family. My husband's family lives far away from us, so we are able to keep my holiday tradition going, and it's so fun now for our kids to get to do the same thing.

(That and baking cookies!)

December 3, 2012 at 10:15 AM

My favorite Christmas memory: uncle and aunt dancing tango in Sao Paulo, Brazil (where I am from), on Christmas day. We would sit around in a circle and they would entertain us... Can't wait to see that bundle in my mail box! (thinking positive!!!).

December 3, 2012 at 10:22 AM

As a kid I always loved getting up and checking out my stocking. It was the only thing we were allowed to open/mess with before everyone else got up.

December 3, 2012 at 10:22 AM

I love making Christmas cookies with my family. Not only is baking fun, but I get to taste test all day. It is so unfortunate when I accidentally smash a cookie...

Putting up all the holiday decorations is the best for me :) Thanks for the chance!

December 3, 2012 at 10:37 AM

December 3, 2012 at 11:37 AM

December 3, 2012 at 11:37 AM

December 3, 2012 at 12:00 PM

As a kid my favorite memory is we always opened our presents on Christmas eve since we went to the big family thing on Christams day-and on Christmas morning we would see what santa left us in our stockings. Sometimes stockings were cooler than presents. Then we would wander to grandma and grandpas for the whole family meal and presents. So much fun remembering the special kids table we had on the screened in porch where we could make as much noise as we wanted.

December 3, 2012 at 12:12 PM

Those kids are gorgeous!
The fabric isn't bad either....!(It's gorgeous too.)

Our favourite Christmas tradition has to be trimming the tree singing Christmas carols and drinking hot cocoa.

We're Jewish, so our major holiday season is in the autumn. That being said, I prefer Passover. My favourite tradition is the entire family gathering during the day to prepare everything for the ceremonial seder meal: five people in the kitchen and three moving furniture around so that we can all recline on couches and cushions as we tell the story of the Exodus from Egypt. It's awesome all around.

I always have a special Christmas ornament for each of my 3 children according to their interests or talents, signed "With Love, Mom" and dated. They enjoy decorating the tree with them and checking the year each ornament was given. They are now 13, 15 & 20.

One of my favourite Christmas traditions is eating our big dinner on Christmas Eve so we can have a really relaxing Christmas day.

What cute kids! It's nice to see that they all love each other. :)

A tradition from my childhood is that we would all bring our Christmas stockings into my parent's bedroom and climb onto the bed with them. Then we'd take turns pulling out one item at a time. This is something we'd do no matter who was spending Christmas with us -- if they were there Christmas morning, they'd bring their stocking in and climb onto the bed with us! It was fun. :)

When I was a little girl, my sister and I each always received a box of Life Savers as a Christmas gift. We thought it was the greatest.

I don't celebrate the holidays, but I always enjoy spending time with my family.

December 3, 2012 at 5:41 PM

As a kid, we weren't allowed to even go into the living room until after my parents grabbed a picture of all the kids (and pets) on the stairs. Now as a parent, I hold the same tradition with my family. It's fun to see the changes over the years.

I don't celebrate the holidays, I hopt that doesn't disqualify me from your giveaway. Time off work to spend with my family is always welcome!
