Liane Dress

I am proudly presenting my first sewn dress for little H! Ever since we found out we were probably going to have a girl (around 14 weeks pregnant), I have been pinning dresses on Pinterest. I just have not had the courage to make one yet, until I saw the Liane dress by Sew Can Do. I had that one favorited on Etsy for a while, and finally bought the pattern this past weekend. The instructions are well written and very easy to follow, with plenty of pictures. And (for a normal mom) this should take an hour tops to make. Me... three days.

I am going to change where the ties go for the next dress, rather than sewing them in the corner, I am going to sew them on the straight edge just below the corner so I can topstitch the dress. I am sad that the pattern only came in two sizes, 3-6 months and 6-18 months, but it's easy enough to figure out how to make it bigger, at least I hope I can figure it out, it's adorable!

Here's my dress!

And the perfect little model! I made the 6-18 month size, which is a little big for H (she's 4.5 months, already), but that just means she can wear it longer.

The neck is big on little H, but I noticed it is big in the pattern pictures too. In a way, that's good, since my kids have big heads. LOL

Oh yeah, did I mention it was reversible? Love it!

I will be linking up with TGIFF, This Week, Craftastic Monday, and possible some others from my Link Party tab. Thanks for stopping by!

What a wonderful surprise to see this linked up to the Craftastic party this week! Your dress turned out great and I'm so proud that you linked up a dress made with my pattern to my little party:)

She is just adorable and i know she'll get lots of wear out of it (also makes a great toddler top). And you're right - the neckhole is large so it's easy to get those baby heads in and out of it!

Such a cute dress, Kelly! And little Miss is super adorable as well. I can't believe you found out at 14 weeks, they always made us wait until at least 20 or so!
