Ruched Maternity Shirt

I recently stumbled on this tutorial from Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries. In this super easy tutorial, you add a strip of elastic to a larger sized T-shirt down each side, and you are done. Of course, for a first time elastic user, and first-time jersey sewer, it was a little more difficult. I did learn a few things, you definitely want to use a ball head needle on t-shirts, and you do not want to screw up. LOL I had to remove the elastic on both sides due to sewing error and well... of course it left behind all these little holes. But when I finally got it right, at least you couldn't see my mistakes. I found that it was easier for me to cut my elastic, I used about 9 inches of elastic per side, spanning about 12 inches of shirt. Keeping the elastic nice and taunt is the key! Thanks for the tutorial Kristi!

Please excuse the headless pics. I was definitely not feeling photogenic today!

What a BRILLIANT idea, Kelly. It's such a nice design and the lines are beautiful. Man, I wish I had known this kind of stuff when I was buying butt-ugly maternity clothes...back in the stone ages...LOL
